A friend of mine had this idea in high school: choose the music you want to listen to while on hold. I wonder if he actually invented it, someone lifted the idea from him, or it was a case of another great mind at work.
The best kind of hold music I've ever had the pleasure listening to was actually a radio drama taken from the 30's. By the time I got connected to a support representative, I was ticked off becuase I wanted to know how the story ended. I totally forgot that 10 minutes had gone by. Now that's clever.
