Reuters is reporting that TiVo's stock is rising on rumors of a takeover bid from Apple.

Personally, I think Apple would be better off developing their own brand and their own PVR service. Despite its brand recognition, TiVo comes with a lot of baggage.
On the other hand, TiVo's primary weakness has been their inability to innovate recently. Apple could infuse the TiVo team with creativity and cash.
