State of the Blogosphere: 75k New Blogs a Day

According to Technorati's David Sifry, the blogosphere is doubling every six months and adding 75,000 new blogs a day to keep up that growth rate.

Alex points out the highlights of the report:

- 19.4 million bloggers (55%) are still posting 3 months after their blogs are created
- about 3.9 million bloggers update their blogs at least weekly
- Technorati tracks about 1.2 Million new blog posts each day, about 50,000 per hour

I've not seen this kind of enthusiasm for the web since the original web boom.

Web 2.0 seems like it's off to a good start.
