Rest in Peace, Dad

My father passed away peacefully Thursday night at the hospital after fighting to recover from a hemorrhagic stroke.

My father's always been a fighter.

He'd overcome a lot in his life and it speaks volumes about his character that he lived as long as he did.

Two years after a quintuple bypass and five weeks after the emergency room neurosurgeon said he "wouldn't make it until noon."

His stamina and will to live amazed the medical staff and we were repeatedly told that "most people don't make it this far" after his type of stroke --a severe bleed near the brain stem.

The last five weeks have been rough on both my father and my family.  But now, my father no longer needs to fight. 

He can now enjoy eternity without toil, strife or struggle.

Instead of flowers, we ask that donations be made to a charity in his name
