BusinessWeek has an article on how to deliver a presentation like Steve Jobs.

The article distills his unique, showman like style into ten tips:

Set the theme.
Demonstrate enthusiasm.
Provide an outline.
Make numbers meaningful.
Try for an unforgettable moment.
Create visual slides.
Give 'em a show.
Don't sweat the small stuff.
Sell the benefit.
Rehearse, rehearse, rehearse.

No word on how to generate your own Reality Distortion Field, though.

Slides from Last Week's Richmond.NET User Group Meeting

I've posted my slide deck from last week's Richmond.NET User Group meeting on SlideShare.

SlideShare is a free service that allows you to upload your presentation and share it online. Right now, they do not support PPTX (PowerPoint 2007), so you'll have to save in good, old PPT or PPS. The site can even understand PDF files.

Slide decks can also be tagged and searched across. There are plenty of good WPF and user experience slides, including this one entitled "The Age of the UX."

My colleague, Russell Stalters, told me about the service and how easy it was to upload documents and embed them in blog posts. He has a lot of presentations up there on the site.

Just Five Days to Tech Ed

Only five days to go until Tech Ed 2007 and I'm really excited.

Tech Ed is a great opportunity to learn, network, and find out what people from around the world are doing in Microsoft technologies.

I went two years ago and I'm excited to come back this time as a speaker and a Birds of a Feather moderator.
