Must Be a Math Error

My GPS claims I maxed out at 148 MPH recently.

While I do miss driving on the Autobahn, I wouldn't dare drive my car that fast in the US.

I don't imagine good things happen to those that drive three times the speed limit.

The real kicker here is that my car's make and model has a cutoff of around 105MPH, making it impossible to go that fast unless I tamper with the car's safety system or get a real good tailwind going downhill.

It must have been some kind of glitch in the GPS unit's computations.

The only other logical explanation is that the dogs removed the speed cutoff without telling me and went out for a late night joyride.

With insurance companies dreaming up schemes to monitor (or control) drivers' behaviors via "black boxes" equipped with GPS units, a math error like this isn't funny, it could put innocent people in jail.

Tax Day

Today is Tax Day here in the US and Dunkin Donuts is offering free donuts.

The best part of all is that the creepy Statue of Liberty characters hanging out in front of strip malls will go away until next tax season.

Real Life Mall Rats

A group of artists in Providence, RI built a loft apartment in a mall and no one noticed for several years.

Now, one of the artists faces charges of trespassing.

You have to wonder how mall security and management could have not noticed this for so long.

Strangely enough, the translators missed one word.

Warner Wolf would be proud of this Google Ad, which promises a "free tape" of TV Commercials for small businesses.

But in 2007, a tape? Aren't DVD's cheaper to make?

Most people have DVDs by now, right? Am I being a technology snob?

Herve Villechaize Sings

You may remember Herve Villechaize as the guy who shouted "The Plane! The Plane!" at the beginning of each episode of Fantasy Island.

He also moonlighted as a singer, as evidenced in this song about why people fight and not "do what's right."
