Microsoft is clearly making a move into the robotics space and by creating tools that open up robotic development for managed code developers, they are lowering the entry barrier.

Mix and MEDC

After walking around the Mix 07 lounge area, complete with oxygen bar and neck massage lounge, I walked around looking at all the SilverLight and WPF related content there.

There is a lot of crossover between the mobile space and web design, especially now that SilverLight natively supports the Ink data type.

Next year, they should combine the two conferences into one big M² conference, turning two smaller shows into one big one. Or, at the very least, let people wander between the two shows.

Ink Postcard Demo Download

I've seen the WPF Ink Postcard demo more times than I can remember, but today I actually came across the source code while looking for something else.

The application demonstrates some basic XAML and InkCanvas behaviors and is well worth a look.

Interactive 2D controls on WPF 3D Surfaces

Channel9 has an excellent video demonstrating interactive 2D controls mapped onto 3D surfaces in WPF.

The video stars Daniel Lehenbauer and Kurt Berglund, both members of the WPF team, and during the course of the interview demonstrate an app and explain the underlying concepts.

Best of all, the code used in the video is available online.
