I’m speaking at the COM.Geo 2012 conference today on Windows 8 development.
The conference’s primary focus is on geospatial technologies, or location awareness in relation to data.
Location is often a primary component of public sector focused datasets.
Think about it: government agencies, first responders, etc are all concerned about what’s happening where.
These datasets are often huge and, often, the data is needed to parsed, crunched, and analyzed in real time -there’s not much use in figuring out where the forest fires will go after it happens.
My colleague Dr Z. speaks on a panel on Cloud Computing.

Talking about the cost effectiveness of cloud data storage
